CLASSIC MOET - A TRIUMPH FOR BRITISH BREEDING

07 May 2018

British breeders would have been thrilled to see Classic Moet triumph at Badminton yesterday, and although we cannot claim that she is Yorkshire-bred, her sire was Yorkshire-based for all of his stud career and produced many successful competition and show horses.

Classic, Classic Moet's sire, was a Thorouighbred (foaled in 1986), and stood at Steve and Josie Knowles's Beechwood Grange Stud near York. Classic Moet's dam, Gamston Bubbles was by Bohemond, another Thoroughbred and former HIS Premium Stallion.  Gamston Bubbles, an advanced event mare, carried some Shire bloodlines on her dam side, so Classic Moet can claim to be completely British bred on both sides of her pedigree.

Many congratulations to Classic Moet's connections - her rider Jonelle Price, her owner Trisha Rickards and last but not least, her breeder Elaine Hepworth!
