Sponsorship  Schedule  2017

Yorkshire Sport Horse Committee (affiliated to the national Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain) is a charity and aims to encourage, reward and promote the breeding of quality competition horses in Yorkshire.  A small working committee runs the group on an entirely voluntary basis.   All profits are used to reward breeders with premium awards, which can only be used towards stallion fees for SHB graded Stallions.

During the course of each year the Committee run an Annual Show in May or June (Wednesday 31st May 2017) and organise educative lectures and events as well as social events including an Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation.

We have a database of some 650 owners, breeders and producers all resident in Yorkshire and the North of England.   This group represents a highly focussed group of dedicated, professional horse producers located in an easily defined area. We operate a Website and also a Facebook site which allows us to stay in touch with our database easily.

The Yorkshire Sport Horse Summer Show was first run in 2002.   Since that time, it has grown considerably in size and stature and now showcases some of the best in-hand and ridden horses in the North of England.   The show is a qualifier for the Horse of the Year Show, the National Hunter Supreme Championships Show, Blue Chip and IDHS Challenge, Retrained Racehorse Championships, the Leeman Supreme Ridden Show Horse Championships, the Kellythorpe Stud Supreme In-Hand Championships and the Michaela Wood In-Hand Championships.   The show also runs classes for Burghley Young Event Horses with the winners qualifying for the final held at Burghley Horse Trials in September.   The quality of these qualifiers ensures we see the very best horses that the North of England can produce.

Yorkshire Sport Horse Show always supports a local charity – Marie Curie and Yorkshire Air Ambulance being the two most recent and the show will support the Air Ambulance again this year.   In 2015 YSH were able to send the Air Ambulance a cheque for £1,000 thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, competitors, advertisers, judges and trade stands.  In 2016 we donated £1,000 to the Friarage Hospital MRI  Scanner appeal.    (In total we have donated approximately £7,000 to the Air Ambulance over the years, together with other donations made to Cancer Charities).

In 2017 we will be again holding our show on Borrowby Showground.   The easy access from the A19 was much appreciated by competitors and trade stands.   This move has entailed more expense but we feel it is worth it but if the show is to continue, we urgently need to find more sponsors.

The Yorkshire Sport Horse Committee have put together some packages which may help prospective sponsors decide which may be the best arrangement for them.   These proposals are suggested as guidelines only – any ideas, contributions or support will be gratefully received.

In the current economic climate, we have kept sponsorship rates static for a third year.
